Foraging in the City

Join professional foraging teacher Ru Kenyon from Forage London and Beyond to discover the art of foraging for wild edible and medicinal plants, trees and mushrooms.

This experience includes:

  • A chauffeur driven car to and from the required foraging location (Hampstead Heath, Oxleas Woods or Hackney Marshes)
  • A choice of hot or cold seasonal beverage
  • An introduction to sustainable foraging that will last between two and three hours
  • Wild food tasting including vinegars, preserves, syrups and alcohol infusions
  • Copy of John Rensten’s book The Edible City, A Year of Wild Food

Price: A half-day experience for two people is £695. Small groups (up to 12) can be accommodated as a private group booking, please enquire for a bespoke price.

Find tranquillity in London’s first large-scale, man-made inner city WWT London Wetland Centre. This 105-acre reserve is home to a diverse ecosystem that has something for everyone. All proceeds spent on this trip will contribute to WWT’s (Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust) conservation projects worldwide.

Itinerary

  • Return luxury, chauffeur-driven electric or hybrid car transfer
  • A beautifully packed 'zero waste' takeaway picnic
  • A bespoke one-hour private guided tour around the reserve or a hands-on experience
  • Two-hours to self-explore the 105-acre nature reserve

Terms & Conditions

  • This experience is for couples or families of up to six people
  • Please note this experience takes at least four hours including travel to and from the WWT
  • The recommended hours for private guided tours are: 10am and 1pm to give guests the opportunity to attend the daily, 15-minute otter talks at 11am and 2pm
  • Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available, but must be booked in advance
  • Please arrive around 10 minutes before the start of your experience wearing clothing and footwear suitable for an outdoor nature area
  • Please note we require seven days advance notice to book this experience
  • Full pre-payment of the experience is required at the time of booking
  • Once booked and pre-paid, the deposit is non-refundable but may be used as a credit for a future experience
