A ritual fit for royalty
Afternoon Tea is a quintessentially English tradition and is upheld in its finest form here at The Milestone, recently highly commended at the Afternoon Tea Awards, 2016. Served in Chenestons Restaurant, the Park Lounge or the Conservatory, it is a treat in more ways than one - a delicious array of delicate finger sandwiches is accompanied by warm freshly baked scones served with Devonshire clotted cream and home-made preserves, as well as a selection of pastries including éclairs, tartlets, cupcakes and macaroons.
Accompanied by a vast tea menu or perhaps a glass of champagne, enjoy tea at your leisure in fine surroundings and experience the superior service for which The Milestone is renowned.
Top tip: Make sure you let us know which treat you liked best and we'll be happy to bring you another, as well as free flowing top-ups of your selected tea or coffee.

Themed Afternoon Teas
Little Prince and Princess Tea
We believe Afternoon Tea should not just be reserved for adults, so here at The Milestone Hotel we have designed a special Little Prince and Princess Afternoon Tea menu for our younger guests complete with a delicious milkshake.
There's the chance for your little ones to take part too as a member of our Food and Beverage team will assist them in decorating their very own cupcakes. This service is complimentary - please allow us at least 24 hours’ notice if you would like to include this option.
Afternoon Tea Parties
An Afternoon Tea is the ideal way to celebrate a special occasion - or simply the perfect excuse to get together with friends!
The Oratory and Conservatory are an excellent option for those looking to book a private Afternoon Tea - and we even have our very own Sabrage Master who will be more than happy to open your Champagne with a sabre, which is bound to impress.
We are now serving our version of High Tea - a savoury feast fit for a king or queen served daily at 5pm. High Tea first became popular during Britain's industrial revolution in the 19th Century, when workers had to wait until the end of the day to enjoy their "tea time." After a hard day's work, the usual tea sandwiches and scones weren't substantial enough, thus transforming into the more filling High Tea which, for many, was their nightly supper. Dishes include Welsh Rarebit, warm mini pies, chicken noodle soup and maple syrup cured bacon scones with truffle butter and more.
Special Dietary Requirements
We will be delighted to accommodate your Afternoon Tea with any special dietary requirements that you and your guests may have, including vegetarian sandwiches, gluten free breads, pastries and scones. If requested, please note that we will endeavour to ensure that there are no nuts in the Afternoon Tea offering – however all products are produced in an environment where nuts are used and we cannot guarantee that our food is 100% free from nuts or nut traces.
