For guests staying at The Milestone Hotel in Kensington, an opulent, one-of-a-kind experience can be had in the hotel’s suites. They are all wonderfully distinct: designed by Bea Tollman, Red Carnation’s visionary founder, each has a unique look, furnished with rare antiques and artworks that Bea has collected during her global travels, as well as listed historical touches ingrained within the fabric of the building.

Below, we’ve selected some of our most popular junior and master suites, with style and sumptuousness that’s met in equal measure by attentive service. Whether you’re planning a whirlwind trip or a longer stay, our suites will feel like a second home.

Viscount Suite

With its palette of neutral colours and its plush décor, the split-level Viscount Suite makes for a cosy and perfectly comfortable stay for those visiting London. Its views looking out on Kensington Gardens – Kensington Palace in clear sight – means there’s no mistaking that you’ve landed in the heart of the city. But despite the location, its interior, including a painting inspired by Renoir, a hand-carved four-poster bed, and a velour chaise lounge, imparts only tranquillity.

Mistinguett Suite

After a taste of Parisian-inspired decadence? The Mistinguett Suite, named in honour of Mistinguett, an entertainer and showgirl who performed at the Moulin Rouge and Folies Bergères, is a vermillion-hued space that’s ideal for the bold. Its vibrant, Continental décor is offset by an inviting king size bed, Parisian posters, and a private terrace, accessed via elegant glass doors.

Harlequin Suite

Chic, black-and-white décor makes the Harlequin Suite a true standout at the Milestone: both modern but also inspired by 15th-century pantomime, the room’s graphic patterning is complemented by a radiant golden headboard. A black chandelier and black marble bathroom add further sophistication, while amenities – which range from plush bathrobes and a soap menu to hot water bottles for chilly nights and daily, customised reading materials – complete the experience.

Safari Suite

In this suite, you’d be forgiven for forgetting you were in London – until you catch a glimpse of a double-decker bus out the window, that is. The Safari Suite offers visitors an escape into the wilds of the African savannah with animal print décor and furnishings and a ceiling canopy which cocoons guests in what feels more like a luxury tent than a suite in central London. A quirky choice perfect for intrepid explorers.

Regency Suite

One of five Master Suites at the Milestone Hotel, the Regency Suite is a lavish affair, perfect for those seeking pure decadence. The highlight of the room is an Italian copper bathtub – perfect to relax in with a glass of Champagne during a romantic London holiday. Other features, including a four-poster bed and 24-hour custom butler service, provide added comfort.

Tudor Suite

The Tudor Grand Master Suite is a highlight at the Milestone Hotel. The rich patterning on the walls and bedspread, the brilliant gold four-poster bed, and the historic wood panelling take inspiration from the sensibilities of the Tudor Period. The generous two-room space, which comes with working fireplaces and a restored minstrel gallery in the receiving room, is also equipped with exceptional service offerings. Guests are treated to complimentary snacks and gifts, butler-service, in-room iPads, personalised playlists and reading offerings, and perfumes on arrival. It’s wholly tempting to stay here a few days/weeks longer than planned.
