We have a number of sustainable partnerships and have previously donated to various charities such as the SMART local charity, which focuses on mental health issues. We also encourage all members of staff to take part in volunteering opportunities and offer two paid days a year to volunteer.
ME To WE is part of WE, a family of organizations making doing good, doable. WE is made up of WE Charity, empowering domestic and international change. A social enterprise that creates socially conscious products and experiences to help directly benefit their local communities and the world, their teams in Asia, Africa, and Latin America have provided more than 1 million people with clean water, built 1,000 schools and schoolrooms overseas, and empowered more than 200,000 children with access to education.
The new chocolate bars to be sold in the hotels have been voted the best chocolate in Ecuador. It is ethically sourced, benefits cacao farmers and gives back to WE Village communities – supporting education, health and food programming.
We donate our corks to the UK’s leading natural wine cork recycling program.
The corks are resold with a % going to nominated charities, as well as being donated to good causes and schools to use in craft projects.
Staff find new ways to support Kensington's local charities, last year’s team member’s organised a clothes drive for Trinity Hospice, this included staff personally donating their unwanted clothes to the charity.
We take part in the Samaritan’s Shoebox appeal every year by donating Christmas gifts that are sent to Romania, with a total of 20 shoeboxes, all prepared by staff.
As part of our commitment to our local community we work with the Kensington and Chelsea Foundation. Throughout the year we are holding a number of events for The Young British Explorers, where all the proceeds will be donated directly to the charity and go towards helping one of their youths to participate in an expedition or camp.
Through the Kensington and Chelsea Foundation, we are supporting The Meanwhile Gardens a local Kensingston charity, which creates hands-on volunteering opportunities throughout the summer.
We proudly support WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and have adopted a polar bear through the foundation, as our green mascot in 2017.

Red Carnation Hotels makes it an on-going priority to support and contribute positively to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
The Starlight Children’s Foundation creates moments of joy and comfort for seriously and terminally ill hospitalized kids and their families. Here at the hotel we place a discretionary £1 donation to each guests final room bill and The Milestone matches this donation for this wonderful charity.
As members of Hospitality Action, which raises alcohol and drug awareness, we work closely with them to draft our own policy in the staff handbook. Training is provided to help recognise these problems and reduce their impact on a person, their colleagues, the hotel, their families and the community.
