At the Chickenshed, everybody is welcome, much like they are at the luxury London hotel the Milestone.

The Chickenshed runs children's and youth theatre groups and performances and, since 1974, more than 1,000 shows have been produced.

Its mantra is simple - anyone can thrive in an environment where everyone is welcome.

Running until the end of May is the moving "as the mother of a brown boy", a tale of a mother recalling the struggles of her mixed-race son to identify with the multi-racial society in which he lived.

Combining dance, theatre and multimedia, it promises to an interesting and entertaining evening.

For those with children, there is a world of music and magic to be explored in Tales from the Shed, which brings original and traditional tales to life in a land of colour, characters and fun.

Music fans, meanwhile, will not want to miss the JazzShed where the cream of London's jazz players will play long into the evening.
