Event: James Ravilious - An English Eye
Date: April 6th to 16th
James Ravilious' ability to capture the beauty and essence of a particular place in a picture made him one of the most celebrated photographers of recent years and helped him stand out from the crowd.
It is now ten years since he passed away but, while he is gone, he has certainly not been forgotten and guests at the luxury London hotel the Milestone will have the opportunity to see images from one of his most famous projects at the National Theatre early next month.
For 17 years, Mr Ravilious lived in Devon, studying rural life and capturing the essence of peoples' existence in a series of black and white photographs.
Attendees will see how he sought to portray in detail the rich landscapes and weather, along with the natives' hardships and joys with a collection of beautiful, honest and sympathetic images.
Wonderful detail and meticulous thought characterised Mr Ravilious' work and these same qualities are in abundance at the Milestone, where guests can enjoy various perks by choosing the Well-Being Package.
These include a non-alcoholic fruit cocktail, fresh fruit and mineral water each day, a one-hour massage and personal training station.
