Event: Modern Painters: The Camden Town Group
Date: February 13th 2008 until May 4th 2008
From February 13th 2008 until May 4th 2008, guests staying at luxury London hotel the Milestone can experience early 1900s London through the eyes of a group of modern painters known as the Camden Town Group.
This innovative collection of artists were held responsible for introducing Britain to post-impressionism and took their inspiration from the likes of Gauguin and Van Gogh.
Themes featured in this exhibition of works include life in the city as well as the changing ways of life in the capital, people, style and sex.
Art lovers staying at luxury London hotel may be aware that Courtauld's exhibition of Walter Sickert's Camden Town Nudes has now finished and the new exhibition provides a good context for them, London Town reports.
Being the first exhibition of the Camden Town Group for more than two decades, visitors to luxury London hotel the Milestone may find that the display at nearby Tate Britain is well worth a visit.
Work displayed will include that of "core" artists Spencer Gore, Harold Gilman, Robert Bevan, Charles Ginner and Walter Sickert.
