Patrons of luxury London hotel the Milestone may be aware that 2008 is the year when the China Now festival is taking place across the capital.
In what is expected to be the largest celebration of Chinese culture to take place in the UK, a series of events highlighting aspects of the country's ethos will be occurring with particular focus being paid to the First Emperor, Chinese New Year and China Design Now.
China Design Now will explore fashion, graphics and architecture pertaining to contemporary design in China and will take place between March 15th 2008 and July 13th 2008 at the Victoria and Albert Museum in Kensington, not far from luxury London hotel the Milestone.
The festival has drawn comment from high-ranking political officials such as prime minister Gordon Brown who commented: "I welcome China Now as a valuable and exciting idea to help bring our countries closer together and further develop and strengthen our relationship."
According to London Town, the exhibition promises to be one of "the most thorough" examinations of new Chinese design.
It notes that the festival is likely to focus on the 2008 Olympic stadium as well as the latest fashions and graphics in design with attention paid to Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
