A. Harrods and Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge is only a short cap drive away giving you the option to shop in world famous department stores.
Q. What’s the easiest way to pay the Congestion Charge when I drive into London?
A. Just let us know your vehicle details and expected time of arrival in London and we can take care of this for you on the Internet. The £8 charge can be included in your hotel bill.
Q. What is Kensington Palace?
A. Kensington Palace and Garden's is the birthplace of Queen Victoria and former home of Diana, Princess of Wales. Visit the Palace and view The Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection. The former grounds of Kensington Palace became a public park in 1841. The gardens are full of charm, starting with Sir George Frampton's statue (1912) of J.M Barrie's fictional Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up, playing his pipes to the bronze fairies and animals that cling to the column below. In the southeast corner of Kensington Gardens is the Serpentine Gallery, which houses temporary exhibitions of painting and sculpture. The building is a former tea pavilion built in 1912. The Round Pond, created in 1728 just east of the palace, is often packed with model boats navigated by children and older enthusiasts. In winter it is occasionally suitable for skating. Next to the palace is the magnificent Peter Pan Adventure Playground which children of all ages thoroughly enjoy.

Q. London is a city known for shopping. What are the city's best and most unusual museum shops?
A. Art lovers will love The National Gallery shop. Alongside umbrellas decorated with the works of Monet and van Gogh, there is a new high-tech printer here that allows you to select mountable reproductions of your favorite painting. Nearby, the National Portrait Gallery has candy lollipops adorned with Marilyn Monroe's face. The Victoria and Albert Museum sells artsy knick-knacks from leading contemporary designers and the Design Museum has Mondaine watches and designer coffee pots by the noted Aldo Rossi. If you are searching for kid-friendly gifts, the Science Museum is a worthy stop with its selection of mud clocks, telegraph transmitters and Albert Einstein action figures. More traditional things like teapots and packaged products can be found at the Bramah Tea and Coffee Museum. Our off beat favorite: the Freud Museum for their fluffy slippers emblazoned with the face of the father of psychoanalysis. Our wonderful conceirges will happily direct you to each of these museums.
Q. Is there a fitness centre close by?
A. We have a wonderful gym, sauna and lap swimming pool at the hotel, which you are more than welcome to use with our compliments or, alternatively, daily membership can be arranged at the local David Lloyd Centre. If you prefer, a personal trainer can also be organised.
Q. If I drive to the hotel, where can I park my car?
A. There are several National Car Parks (NCP) locally, we would advise driving to the hotel where our concierge can provide a valet service and will park your car for you, all charges for car parks can be added to your bill.

Q. How easy is it to get to the West End theatre district from the Milestone and how much time should I allow?
A. Black cabs pass the front of the hotel constantly. We recommend allowing an extra 10 – 15 minutes on Friday and Saturday evenings as these are the busiest theatre nights. You can reach the West End theatre district in 15-20 minutes maximum. Alternatively we can pre-book a Carey’s car for added comfort or should you wish to arrive in style, we can provide our Bentley limousine service.
