Whether you are staying with us or not, The Milestone Hotel can arrange a wonderful picnic for you to enjoy.

London is famous for its parks and we’re just as famous for our picnic hampers filled with delicious al fresco fayre. Put the two together and you’ve got the perfect lazy London afternoon.

This also makes the ideal surprise gift, by making all the arrangements directly with the hotel we can arrange to be at a specific point for you where your loved one(s) can simply turn up and be served by your own butler. Alternatively, our elegant Bentley service is available to take you to your favourite romantic spot for a more intimate experience.

The hotel provides a suggested menu that includes such mouthwatering delights as Buffalo Mozzarella, with sun blushed tomato and slices of Parma ham, on Focaccia bread, toasted chicken, avocado and mayonnaise sandwiches, plus Scottish smoked salmon on crusty white bread.  It also includes a flask of Gazpachio soup, and Chicken Satay skewers with a peanut dip, plus baked American cheesecake and homemade cookies to round everything off.  To wash it all down there’s homemade lemonade and Champagne. However, you can ask for a selection that includes your own personal favourite foods and beverages – Pimms is always a popular choice!

You might prefer a traditional Afternoon Tea in the park, in which case you could tuck into a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with Devonshire clotted cream and preserves, French pastries, fruitcake, strawberries with cream, a pot of tea of your choice, maybe served with a half bottle of Champagne – you decide.

This al fresco experience is also available to non-residents as well.  Everything is exactly the same, with a magnificent spread laid out ready for you on the grass.

With so many of London’s finest parks almost on the doorstep it’s a great idea that’s sure to consolidate the hotel’s reputation - and another excellent example of the Red Carnation Hotels’ philosophy that “no request is too large, no detail too small”.
