Category: Music & Theatre Dates: Saturday, 24 August 2013 to Monday, 26 August 2013 A musical theatre version of Ulster poet Louis MacNiece's radio play The Dark Tower is set to make an impact at London's Riverside Studios. The story, itself inspired by Robert Browning’s 1855 poem Childe Roland to the Dark Tower, promises to delight and enthrall in its musical form, which has been especially commissioned by the Youth Music Theatre. With a libretto written by acclaimed Northern Irish composer and writer Conor Mitchell, who has previously received the Arts Foundation Award for his contribution to musical theatre, audiences can be assured of the quality of the script. As there are matinees and evening performances across the weekend commencing August 24th, plus a special 1pm showing on the 26th, theatre enthusiasts have plenty of opportunity to see this incredible piece. If you're thinking of travelling down to the capital to witness it, make sure you check into the nearby Milestone Hotel for a luxurious weekend.
