Category: Art & Culture Dates: Wednesday, 01 January 2014 to Monday, 21 April 2014 Keen exotic art enthusiasts should consider visiting the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum this January as the venue will be hosting an exhibition based around works created in countries as far-flung as Brazil, Kosovo, Algeria and Norway. Around 270 individual pieces were nominated for the £25,000 prize, with artists conjuring up some truly intricate and thought-provoking pieces. Particularly of note is the Arabic typography and calligraphy, as inspired by world-famous philosopher and creative Hagia Sofia of Istanbul. It's also worth spending some time taking in the miniature drawings, all of which contain an incredible level of detail considering they are constructed on such tiny pieces of paper. The exhibition is on at the V&A until April 21st 2014. Those staying at The Milestone, which is located closely nearby, can complement the experience with an exclusive visit to Kensington Palace.
